Bio Microneedling harnesses the unique properties of sponge spicules, which are tiny, siliceous microneedles extracted from freshwater sponges. These microneedles possess a remarkable ability to stimulate the skin cells, triggering microcirculation on the skin’s surface. Through this process, active ingredients are effectively delivered deep within the skin.
Under a microscope, sponge spicules resemble sharp rod crystals, though they are barely visible to the naked eye. During a Bio Microneedling session, approximately 3 to 5 million of these natural siliceous microneedles are gently massaged into the dermal layer, a process taking a mere 5-10 minutes.
This treatment accelerates the skin cycle from 28 days to just 7 days by activating skin cells, enhancing skin metabolism, and promoting collagen production for smoother, more youthful skin.
To better understand how Bio Microneedling actually works, let’s break it down into three phases:
Phase 1: The gentle massage introduces 3 to 5 million siliceous microneedles into the dermis and epidermis, stimulating the skin for up to 72 hours before naturally shedding. This process creates millions of microchannels within minutes, promoting cell turnover and enhancing the absorption of topical skincare products by up to 3,000%!
Phase 2: Basal cells are activated, leading to the production of new skin cells that push older cells towards the surface for exfoliation.
Phase 3: Collagen production, proliferation and remodelling occur. The implantation of spicules creates a wound-healing cascade that replaces damaged skin with new dermal tissues and blood vessels, effectively remodelling the skin.
Unlike traditional methods such as microneedling, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser resurfacing, Bio Microneedling offers a safe and natural approach to skin rejuvenation without causing skin breakage or bleeding. For many individuals, it represents an ideal alternative, offering remarkable results without the associated discomfort or downtime.
Bio Microneedling stands out as one of the safest, most advanced treatments available, suitable for all skin types and addressing 95% of skin conditions. Its natural, sustainably sourced, and ethical formulation offers numerous benefits:
One of the many advantages of using spicules is their unique ability to amplify the absorption and efficacy of skincare products. This means they are the perfect companion to any skincare brand you use in your salon.
Step into the future of skincare with Bio Microneedling – more than just a treatment, it represents a harmonious blend of science and nature, delivering visible results and promoting overall skin health.

OTHER considerations:
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:
DAY 1:
Following your treatment, DO NOT touch your skin or cleanse. It is normal for the skin to feel flushed, itchy, and hot, with a prickly sensation from the needles. This is a sign that the treatment is working. To relieve these symptoms, you can:
DAY 2:
You may experience the following symptoms – don’t be alarmed; it is normal. Tingling and needling feeling will last for up to 72 hours. The skin will be extremely dry after the treatment. Increased hydration will help the skin recover. Using a facial sheet mask is suggested, e.g. Sequential Skin Biome Mask. Redness: can occur as the dead skin cells are renewed.
Dryness: The skin can be dry for a few days and up to two weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred, and the skin may need supplementary moisture.
Itching: Itchiness is your body’s natural response in the healing phase.
Acne: (Purging) For acne-prone skin, a large number of acne and closed acne may be discharged on the third day. This is normal and nothing to worry about; we call this purging.
AM:
Option 1: Resume normal routine; cleanser, moisturiser, Repair Gel/Calming Essence can be incorporated. SPF can be worn and make-up if desired. Do not use AHA, BHA or Retinol.
Option 2: For more intense results, avoid cleansing the skin for the first 72 hours. Splash with cool water, avoid make-up, use Repair Gel/Calming Essence/Moisturiser/SPF if desired.
PM:
Rinse with water – apply Repair Gel or moisturiser, e.g. GERnétic Synchro. Avoid excessive exercise and sweating for the first 48 hours.
DAYS 3 TO 6:
After approximately 72 hours, the spicules will naturally fall out of the skin, causing the skin to peel at the same time. Skin peeling will start on the third day. DO NOT tear it but let it fall off naturally. It is normal for thick and oily skin not to peel.
You may experience the following symptoms, which are all normal:
Peeling: Due to the build-up of old skin cells, different skin conditions will experience varying degrees of skin renewal and peeling. Redness: can occur when dead skin cells are renewed.
Dryness: The skin can be dry for a few days and up to two weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred, and the skin may need supplementary moisture.
Tightness: As the skin heals, the skin can feel tight and dry. If the skin is peeling or feels very tight, we suggest using an enzymatic exfoliator such as Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme. Apply it as a mask for 2 minutes and gently massage.
PM:
Cleanse with a gentle cleanser. If necessary, apply Repair Gel or moisturiser (GERnétic Synchro) plus your gentle actives.
DAYS 7 – 10:
You may start to reintroduce your actives and resume your normal skincare routine. The skin may still experience:
Dryness: The skin can be dry for a few days and up to two weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred, and the skin may need supplementary moisture.
Peeling: Due to the build-up of old skin cells, different skin conditions will experience varying degrees of skin renewal and peeling.
This of course will vary from client to client as the Frequency of treatment and with other treatment Bio Microneedling can be partnered up. But generally about 7-10 days after a Bio Microneedling is a perfect time to have a Gernetic Classic Facial. The Bio Micro Needling enhances the results achieved in a Classic Medi Facial as the nutrients and actives in the Gernetic products used during the facial are able to penetrate deeper.
The Gernetic philosophy to skincare is to provide high quality and high performing actives to the skin at a cellular level, so the Bio Microneedling 7-10 days before the facial is match made in heaven.

“The BIO micro needling treatment was a mixture of senses. The prickly sensation initially took you me by surprise, but in doing so, I realised the treatment is working its magic. The best part is the silky mask that Emme gently applies all over the face followed by two fragrant serums. I have noticeable pigmentation on my cheeks and by the end of the first treatment I could actually see an improvement in my skin. I’m definitely looking forward to the second stage of this four stage treatment.
I highly recommend the BIO micro needling treatment! Thank you so much Emme.” – Evie Cassimatis, Radiance Beauty customer
