To better understand how Bio Microneedling actually works, let’s break it down into three phases:

Phase 1: The gentle massage introduces 3 to 5 million siliceous microneedles into the dermis and epidermis, stimulating the skin for up to 72 hours before naturally shedding. BEFORE CARE

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

This product is NOT suitable for people with:

• Active eczema, psoriasis & dermatitis in the treatment area
• Scleroderma
• Fungal infections
• Scars less than 6 months old
• Broken skin (covering large areas)
• Sunburn
• Customers taking oral or topical Roaccutane or high doses of Vitamin A
• Avoid the use of high-strength home care AHA and BHA products for 7 days prior to treatment
• Uncontrolled Diabetes
• Clients who have ever had face threads inserted

POSTPONE treatment if:

• You have had waxing, threading, laser facial hair removal in the past 10 days
• You have had treatment with a strong exfoliating acid within the past 3-4 weeks
• Wait 4 weeks if you’ve had fractional laser or pico laser
• Wait 4 weeks if you have been treated with hyaluronic acid fillers
• Wait 10 days if you have had Botox
• Wait 10 days if you have had microdermabrasion
• Wait 6 weeks if you have had laser resurfacing
• Wait 4 weeks if you have had skin microneedling

OTHER considerations:

• Inform your clinician of ANY treatment prior to booking
• Stop application of topical Vitamin A at least 7 days prior to treatment
• Avoid drinking alcohol 1 day before treatment
• DO NOT wear make-up on the day of treatment. It is ideal to allow the skin to stabilise and rest overnight
• Bring a hat with you on the day of your treatment. Avoiding sun exposure post-treatment is vital

AFTERCARE

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:

• Avoid excessive exercise and sweating for the first 48 hours
• Avoid swimming in chlorinated or salt water for the first 48 hours
• Avoid saunas, spas and facial tanning for the first 7 days.
• After a treatment, it is recommended that no AHA, BHA or Retinol products be used for 7 days post-treatment.
• On day 2, gentle actives such as Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, Growth Factor, etc, can be introduced.
• We suggest using SPF only from Day 2, so please avoid sun exposure and wear a hat on day 1.

DAY 1:

Following your treatment, DO NOT touch your skin or cleanse. It is normal for the skin to feel flushed, itchy, and hot, with a prickly sensation from the needles. This is a sign that the treatment is working. To relieve these symptoms, you can:

• Splash with cool water
• Apply a sheet mask with gentle actives, like Hyaluronic Acid
• Ice the face If the skin feels dry, you may use your Repair Gel or moisturiser, e.g. GERnétic Synchro. Avoid sun exposure and wear a hat if you are outside.

DAY 2:

You may experience the following symptoms – don’t be alarmed; it is normal. Tingling and needling feeling will last for up to 72 hours. The skin will be extremely dry after the treatment. Increased hydration will help the skin recover. Using a facial sheet mask is suggested, e.g. Sequential Skin Biome Mask. Redness: can occur as the dead skin cells are renewed.

Dryness: The skin can be dry for a few days and up to two weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred, and the skin may need supplementary moisture.

Itching: Itchiness is your body’s natural response in the healing phase.

Acne: (Purging) For acne-prone skin, a large number of acne and closed acne may be discharged on the third day. This is normal and nothing to worry about; we call this purging.

AM:

Option 1: Resume normal routine; cleanser, moisturiser, Repair Gel/Calming Essence can be incorporated. SPF can be worn and make-up if desired. Do not use AHA, BHA or Retinol.

Option 2: For more intense results, avoid cleansing the skin for the first 72 hours. Splash with cool water, avoid make-up, use Repair Gel/Calming Essence/Moisturiser/SPF if desired.

PM:

Rinse with water – apply Repair Gel or moisturiser, e.g. GERnétic Synchro. Avoid excessive exercise and sweating for the first 48 hours.

AFTERCARE

DAYS 3 TO 6:

After approximately 72 hours, the spicules will naturally fall out of the skin, causing the skin to peel at the same time. Skin peeling will start on the third day. DO NOT tear it but let it fall off naturally. It is normal for thick and oily skin not to peel.

You may experience the following symptoms, which are all normal:

Peeling: Due to the build-up of old skin cells, different skin conditions will experience varying degrees of skin renewal and peeling. Redness: can occur when dead skin cells are renewed.

Dryness: The skin can be dry for a few days and up to two weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred, and the skin may need supplementary moisture.

Tightness: As the skin heals, the skin can feel tight and dry. If the skin is peeling or feels very tight, we suggest using an enzymatic exfoliator such as Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme. Apply it as a mask for 2 minutes and gently massage.

PM:

Cleanse with a gentle cleanser. If necessary, apply Repair Gel or moisturiser (GERnétic Synchro) plus your gentle actives.

DAYS 7 – 10:

You may start to reintroduce your actives and resume your normal skincare routine. The skin may still experience:

Dryness: The skin can be dry for a few days and up to two weeks following treatment. The skin cell renewal process has occurred, and the skin may need supplementary moisture.

Peeling: Due to the build-up of old skin cells, different skin conditions will experience varying degrees of skin renewal and peeling.

How to incorporate Bio Micro Needling into your existing salon regime ?

This of course will vary from client to client as the Frequency of treatment and with other treatment Bio Microneedling can be partnered up. But generally about 7-10 days after a Bio Microneedling is a perfect time to have a Gernetic Classic Facial.The Bio Micro Needling enhances the results achieved in a Classic Medi Facial as the nutrients and actives in the Gernetic products used during the facial are able to penetrate deeper.
